Is there a call for "objections" in a civil wedding ceremony?
In a civil wedding ceremony, does the officiant ask if anyone knows of an impediment to the marriage? According to my research, certain declarative statements must be made in both civil and religious ceremonies stating that the participants must be legally free to marry...But does the officiant actually ask THAT LOADED QUESTION that can be the source of all sorts of drama? :D
